What causes hair loss?

Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) is a genetic trait. It’s called Androgenetic Alopecia. It’s inherited from your family. If the men in your family are showing a bald spot on the crown, it’s likely you will too.

This is an issue men have been dealing with for centuries. According to legend, Julius Caesar invented the laurel leaf wreath to cover his receding hairline.

Too bad Julius didn’t have access to Provillus in the days of the Roman Empire.

MPB results from genetic traits, and hormonal causes. Provillus can’t change your genetic history, but it can help with the hormonal causes.

DHT is the hormone involved in hair loss

DHT (dihydrotestostrone) is derived from androgen, a male hormone. As the androgen circulates through the bloodstream, it is converted to DHT by the enzyme, 5-alpha reductase. DHT tends to bind to hair follicle receptors,
causing the follicles to sprout thinner and thinner hairs until nothing regrows, and the follicles eventually wither away.

The life cycle of normal hair growth

Normally, hair has three phases of growth:

  • Anagen – The growth phase, lasts for two to six years. Usually 90% of the hair is in growth phase.
  • Catagen -- A transient phase lasting a few weeks. The hair becomes thinner and the follicle starts shrinking.
  • Telogen – The thinned hairs fall off to make way for new hair. This lasts for two to four months.

When excess DHT is in the bloodstream, it shortens the Anagen, or growth phase, and causes premature shrinkage of the follicles. Because the DHT is bound to the follicle, often the hair will not re-grow normally.

Provillus helps block DHT from strangling your hair follicles.

Minoxidil, the ingredient clinically proven, and approved by the FDA for re-growing your hair, inhibits DHT. This powerful active ingredient works in your hair follicles.

Finding Out The Truth On About An Important Question Of Know Real Facts About How Is Dandruff Related To Hair Loss?

By Eugene Yeng

Itchy or flaky scalp is not serious or uncommon. In fact, it affects about 40% of the population. People from different age groups can get this condition. Although it is not life-threatening, flaky scalp can be extremely annoying. It can cause the scalp to itch and become inflamed. People who are troubled with this skin condition choose to have it treated, not because it poses a threat to their health, but because it is rather embarrassing. There have been some claims linking flaking to hair fall. How is dandruff related to hair loss?

As opposed to what others claim, flaky scalp and thinning of roots are definitely not connected. It may actually be caused by scratching the scalp. Flaky scalp often causes the scalp the itch, and scratching makes the roots weaker. Dandruff, in itself, cannot cause hair loss. Scratching is what weakens the hair strands, leading to loss of hair.

Those with a history of thinning in the family should take extra measures to prevent flakes. Your first defense against baldness is preventing the onset of flaky scalp. There are various factors which can make a person vulnerable to dandruff. Skin ailments like seborrheic dermatitis, scalp eczema and psoriasis weaken the defenses of the skin against flaky scalp.

Aside from skin disorders, genetic problems, stress, poor diet and hygiene and excessive temperature can also cause scalp irritation. A diet that is high in fat and sugar should be avoided. Avoid staying under the sun as extreme heat causes the scalp to perspire become irritated. Harsh chemicals found in shampoo and hair products are also common culprits. In some cases, dandruff is more difficult to treat because of an accompanying fungal infection.

Excessive perspiration also irritates the scalp. Some cleansers and hairstyling products contain harsh dyes, which aggravate roots. An underlying fungal infection complicates matters and makes it tougher to heal an itchy scalp.

Rubbing a slice of raw onion is effective as well. Replace ordinary shampoo with a mild variant and wash at least 3 times a week. Stay away from alcohol-based products as these dry out the scalp.

Keep your scalp nourished by taking supplements. Garlic oil and oregano are both effective in promoting hair growth. Flaxseed oil has high levels of Omega-3, which also encourages growth. This can be taken in capsule form or added to your diet by sprinkling over food. Poor metabolism and lack of complex carbohydrates also causes dandruff. Keep levels of fatty acids in balance by taking Vitamin B supplements.

The best way to banish flakes permanently is by eating nutritious food and by exercising regularly. These work better than any medication or remedy. Several reports revealed that those affected with flakes have thick and acidic skin oils on their scalp. This is caused by eating food with too much animal fat. Combat the harmful effects of saturated fat by eating fruits and vegetables, and replacing junk food by healthier alternatives like grains and nuts.
