What causes hair loss?

Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) is a genetic trait. It’s called Androgenetic Alopecia. It’s inherited from your family. If the men in your family are showing a bald spot on the crown, it’s likely you will too.

This is an issue men have been dealing with for centuries. According to legend, Julius Caesar invented the laurel leaf wreath to cover his receding hairline.

Too bad Julius didn’t have access to Provillus in the days of the Roman Empire.

MPB results from genetic traits, and hormonal causes. Provillus can’t change your genetic history, but it can help with the hormonal causes.

DHT is the hormone involved in hair loss

DHT (dihydrotestostrone) is derived from androgen, a male hormone. As the androgen circulates through the bloodstream, it is converted to DHT by the enzyme, 5-alpha reductase. DHT tends to bind to hair follicle receptors,
causing the follicles to sprout thinner and thinner hairs until nothing regrows, and the follicles eventually wither away.

The life cycle of normal hair growth

Normally, hair has three phases of growth:

  • Anagen – The growth phase, lasts for two to six years. Usually 90% of the hair is in growth phase.
  • Catagen -- A transient phase lasting a few weeks. The hair becomes thinner and the follicle starts shrinking.
  • Telogen – The thinned hairs fall off to make way for new hair. This lasts for two to four months.

When excess DHT is in the bloodstream, it shortens the Anagen, or growth phase, and causes premature shrinkage of the follicles. Because the DHT is bound to the follicle, often the hair will not re-grow normally.

Provillus helps block DHT from strangling your hair follicles.

Minoxidil, the ingredient clinically proven, and approved by the FDA for re-growing your hair, inhibits DHT. This powerful active ingredient works in your hair follicles.

A Review Of Traditional And Holistic Asian Hair Regrowth Methods

By Eugene Yeng

Millions of people around the globe suffer from some level of baldness. This often embarrassing and frustrating condition has resulted in a huge market for products that promise a re-growth of the hair. However, traditional and holistic Asian hair regrowth methods have been used for hundreds of years and proven to be effective in helping individuals with all conditions related to this condition.

One of the ingredients that is often used in Asian remedies is He Shou Wu. This plant grows in Southern China and the roots contain Polygonium Multifloriun, which has been found to rejuvenate and revitalize an individual. This root has been found to be very effective in reducing the symptoms of baldness and increase the circulation of nutrients throughout the body.

Fighting the effects of premature aging and alopecia has been greatly increased by the use of traditional herbs that provide important vitamins and nutrients to the blood. Herbs are also used to remove toxins from the body and help the liver and kidneys filter impurities more effectively. The enhanced flow of circulation, oxygen and blood to the follicles on the head and scalp have been very effective in reducing baldness.

Ginkgo is a holistic remedy used to increase the circulation and stimulate cells and tissues in the body and scalp. The rejuvenation and stimulation that is the result of this herb optimizes growth of hair and when used on a regular basis, can effectively reduce the collapse of pores and follicles in the scalp.

An ingredient used in many lotions and creams of traditional, holistic remedies is Amla oil. This oil is rich in Vitamin C and has a calming effect on the head. The berries, roots and bark of the Amla tree are used to create this oil which rejuvenates the scalp and provides nutrients to the pores and follicles of the scalp.

Another ingredient that is used in many lotions and creams is Sesame Oil. This oil stimulates the scalp and does not clog the follicles. In addition to creams and lotions created for the head, Sesame Oil is extremely beneficial for the entire body. When included in herbal shampoos, lotions, etc., the holistic remedies provide nutrients and vitamins through natural herbal ingredients and oils that regenerate and nourish cells in the body.

Many holistic practitioners used a combined program of lotions, shampoos, etc., and massage of the scalp and neck. In addition, acupuncture and acupressure are often incorporated when the condition is being caused by an internal issue such as stress or tension. These programs normally require that an individual meet with their practitioner for a series of sessions that will focus on both the balding and other issues in the body.

Finding the traditional and holistic Asian hair regrowth methods that will be most effective for you will be easier if you discuss your needs with a professional who is knowledgeable in the different techniques, herbal remedies and supplements that are available. They will be able to provide you with important information about the steps you can take to naturally and safely eliminate further hair loss.
