What causes hair loss?

Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) is a genetic trait. It’s called Androgenetic Alopecia. It’s inherited from your family. If the men in your family are showing a bald spot on the crown, it’s likely you will too.

This is an issue men have been dealing with for centuries. According to legend, Julius Caesar invented the laurel leaf wreath to cover his receding hairline.

Too bad Julius didn’t have access to Provillus in the days of the Roman Empire.

MPB results from genetic traits, and hormonal causes. Provillus can’t change your genetic history, but it can help with the hormonal causes.

DHT is the hormone involved in hair loss

DHT (dihydrotestostrone) is derived from androgen, a male hormone. As the androgen circulates through the bloodstream, it is converted to DHT by the enzyme, 5-alpha reductase. DHT tends to bind to hair follicle receptors,
causing the follicles to sprout thinner and thinner hairs until nothing regrows, and the follicles eventually wither away.

The life cycle of normal hair growth

Normally, hair has three phases of growth:

  • Anagen – The growth phase, lasts for two to six years. Usually 90% of the hair is in growth phase.
  • Catagen -- A transient phase lasting a few weeks. The hair becomes thinner and the follicle starts shrinking.
  • Telogen – The thinned hairs fall off to make way for new hair. This lasts for two to four months.

When excess DHT is in the bloodstream, it shortens the Anagen, or growth phase, and causes premature shrinkage of the follicles. Because the DHT is bound to the follicle, often the hair will not re-grow normally.

Provillus helps block DHT from strangling your hair follicles.

Minoxidil, the ingredient clinically proven, and approved by the FDA for re-growing your hair, inhibits DHT. This powerful active ingredient works in your hair follicles.

Is Laser Hair Therapy The New Solution For Hair Loss

By Jenny Ortiz

If you are reading this article, either you or someone you know are suffering from hair loss. Chance are you have tried all the over the counter remedies and are unhappy with the results. If you have agreed to any of the aforementioned, you are in the right place. This article will introduce a new option to you known as, 'Laser Hair Therapy.'

The use of lasers have been use to combat hair loss for sometime now. Studies have proven that it is an effective weapon for both men and women suffering from thinning hair. The great news is the cost of this technology has come down to a range that practically anyone can afford.

This form of hair restoration is applied to the scalp for approximately thirty-minutes, and done over multiple sessions. The sessions are painless, and causes no discomfort to the patient whatsoever. The lasers unlike other remedies that fail to work, works on a molecular level. The laser works on a root level, by stimulating the core of your hair follicles.

It is easier to visualize how the growth of your hair works if you view hair growth to that of a plant. As age begins to set in your hair starts to act more like a plant that is lacking sunlight. Without sunlight the growth of a plant will slow down and eventually stop. Laser hair therapy is similar to sunlight for your hair and with treatment your hair will start to grow again, just like a plant when you give it some sun. Laser therapy will give your hair nourishment and oxygen, by supplying blood flow to the follicles. This will ultimately stimulate the growth of hair.

Since laser hair therapy is a natural process, more people world-wide are starting to turn to it as their hair loss remedy. Laser therapy is not to be confused with those knock-off laser hair systems, or surgeries. This therapy depending on your current phase of hair loss is a preferred option as compared to more drastic options on the market today.

Dealing with your first grey hair is bad enough. Imagine my horror when one day I looked in the mirror and realized that my hair was thinning at the age of 38. As I stood their looking at the stranger in the mirror I could see images of my grandfather. I vividly remember his shinny bald head with peach fuzz around the sides. Was this my destiny? Do to lack of education I mistakenly thought that hair restoration was to expensive.

Thanks to creative thinking I found the perfect solution. I discovered a new hair style! I began covering up the thinning area. After six months or so, I began to realize that I was fooling no one but myself. I then began wearing hats. This was a good solution, but then realized how stupid I looked sitting in a restaurant with a hat on, when everyone else took theirs off. This was the final straw - I began researching hair restoration options. To my surprise it was more affordable than I had once believed. I visited a hair specialist and was blown away when she told me that I did not need surgery that laser hair therapy would help me. I began treatments and after a few months I noticed that my hair stopped falling out. A few months later I noticed that my hair was growing again.
