What causes hair loss?

Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) is a genetic trait. It’s called Androgenetic Alopecia. It’s inherited from your family. If the men in your family are showing a bald spot on the crown, it’s likely you will too.

This is an issue men have been dealing with for centuries. According to legend, Julius Caesar invented the laurel leaf wreath to cover his receding hairline.

Too bad Julius didn’t have access to Provillus in the days of the Roman Empire.

MPB results from genetic traits, and hormonal causes. Provillus can’t change your genetic history, but it can help with the hormonal causes.

DHT is the hormone involved in hair loss

DHT (dihydrotestostrone) is derived from androgen, a male hormone. As the androgen circulates through the bloodstream, it is converted to DHT by the enzyme, 5-alpha reductase. DHT tends to bind to hair follicle receptors,
causing the follicles to sprout thinner and thinner hairs until nothing regrows, and the follicles eventually wither away.

The life cycle of normal hair growth

Normally, hair has three phases of growth:

  • Anagen – The growth phase, lasts for two to six years. Usually 90% of the hair is in growth phase.
  • Catagen -- A transient phase lasting a few weeks. The hair becomes thinner and the follicle starts shrinking.
  • Telogen – The thinned hairs fall off to make way for new hair. This lasts for two to four months.

When excess DHT is in the bloodstream, it shortens the Anagen, or growth phase, and causes premature shrinkage of the follicles. Because the DHT is bound to the follicle, often the hair will not re-grow normally.

Provillus helps block DHT from strangling your hair follicles.

Minoxidil, the ingredient clinically proven, and approved by the FDA for re-growing your hair, inhibits DHT. This powerful active ingredient works in your hair follicles.

You can cut down the effects of hair loss in men by taking good care of your scalp and hair.

By Robert S. Roberts

One of the things that most people take for granted is their hair. It isn't until that hair starts to thin or disappear that most men start worrying about it. This is when we kick our hair and scalp care into high gear to avoid further loss. The simple fact is that, sometimes, you can prevent men's hair loss with simple and good hair care.

It is a proven fact that good care of your hair and scalp can minimize the speed at which you loose your hair and in some cases stop it completely. Although body care is important the fact is it is not any more important than the care you give your hair and scalp. Take care of your scalp and it will take care of you. If you want to know more practical steps to take to reduce your hair loss keep reading.

If you make a decision to blow dry your hair (which should be done infrequently), shield your hair with a thermal styling spray. These styling sprays can help shield your hair from the torture heat can cause. Heat can harm your hair and cause it to be tangled and other harms that will work their way up to your scalp.

If you are concerned about men's hair loss, you are going to need to turn down the temperature of your shower's water. Turn down the water heat for your head. It assists in keeping the blood flowing and is simpler for your scalp to handle than the hot water you use for your muscles (take a bath for that).

Keep those frizzies under control while strengthening your hair with the simple conditioning of your hair. Do this instead of trying to use a bunch of anti-frizz gels and sprays which do little more than clog your pores and hair follicles. To prevent further clogging, you can try using an exfoliating facial scrub on your scalp once a week. Many people don't realize that the face is more sensitive than the scalp and these products can also be used for scalp care. This will keep your pores and follicles from becoming too clogged with gunk to grow hair.

When you comb your hair out after your shower, do not use a brush. Don't ever use a brush on wet hair. In lieu of, you should use a wide toothed comb. This can intercept you unintentionally pulling on your hair, which can aggravate your scalp.

There are more sophisticated and safer techniques for curling your hair if that is the look you yearn for. Hair care alone will not prevent hair loss. It will most likely give you the feeling of accomplishment to know you are doing something to slow the progression even if it will never completely diminish.

You may even see drastically diminished rates at which the hair is thinning and discover conditions that were underlying which may be the cure you are looking for. Do yourself a favor and make sure that your hair and scalp are as healthy as they can possibly be.
